The subject of 'Sad Endings' applies to stories of any medium; books, movies, shows and etc. Bittersweet endings, tragic endings, you name it. They usually depict a lost of a loved one. But obviously, sad endings here means in all its manifestations.

They can really give you the satisfaction of the ability of following and feeling the characters' dilemma. And with good authoring/screenplaying, sad endings can be very enjoyable and make a story out of the ordinary and more realistic; since life itself isn't always a happy ending.

Happy endings can be too prototypical and boring. Like some say, "Happy endings are for wimps!" *sniggers*

It's sad to say, but sad endings are always more remarkable and sentimental.
